Tobacco Prevention in the Lens of COVID-19: Opportunities and Strategies

The webinar featured three panelists: Marcus Plescia, ASTHO’s chief medical officer; Clinton Isham, a tribal relations consultant for the Americans for Nonsmokers’ Rights Foundation; and Jennifer Kreslake, director at the Schroeder Institute at Truth Initiative. The panelists addressed topics related to the intersections of COVID-19 and tobacco control work, including the link between tobacco use and COVID-19 transmission, tobacco prevention messaging strategies, as well as disparate populations and health inequities. The panelists’ varying perspectives and insights resulted in a rich discussion that brought to light the importance of being resilient, creative, and supportive during this time.
