Healthy People 2020

ASTHO Supports Healthy People 2020

Healthy People is the foundation for prevention efforts across the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Healthy People offers comprehensive, science-based, 10-year national objectives for improving the health of all Americans. Measureable objectives and goals are organized into 42 topic areas that can be applied at the state level. The Leading Health Indicators are a smaller set of Healthy People 2020 objectives that emphasize high-priority health issues and actions that can be taken to address them.
