ASTHO's Prevention Program works toward eliminating behaviorally-based disease and injury. The work done in the program's focal areas are central to ASTHO's stance on U.S. health reform.

ASTHO helps develop policies that integrate and promote chronic disease prevention related to cancer, heart disease and stroke, and address the underlying risk factors of tobacco use, physical activity, and nutrition.
