Public Health Law

About

The enactment and enforcement of laws is an important tool for improving the health of the population. Laws establish the authority of public health agencies and delineate their functions. ASTHO serves as the go to resource for state and territorial public health agencies and strives to provide our members with critical public health law resources on various topics. ASTHO also convenes a workgroup of state health agency attorneys who are available to provide real time technical assistance on legal questions in emergencies. The information contained on this website is not legal advice. If you have questions about a specific law or its application you should consult your legal counsel.
