In order to build public health informatics capacity in state and territorial health agencies, ASTHO is engaged in various initiatives, such as: the Informatics Directors Peer Network
ASTHO’s Informatics Director’s Peer Network (IDPN) is comprised of statewide public health informatics leads identified by executive leadership at state and territorial health agencies. The IDPN serves as a venue for collaboration around informatics-related issues such as creating an informatics office, workforce, and technical architecture. It is also a key forum for state-to-state sharing of best practices and focused discussions.Members of the ASTHO IDPN have also contributed information and resources for an Informatics Workforce and Organizational Toolkit.
